Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications, ensuring that our church and the communities we serve are equipped with and served by the communications of Hope Church. The Communications Manager will be accountable for the management of all social media platforms and content creation, the church newsletters, and event promotions.

CHARACTER

  • Mature follower of Jesus Christ with character consistent with 1 Timothy 3:8-13
  • Authentic lifestyle demonstrating consistent character and spiritual growth, and a commitment to help others have the same
  • Agreement with Hope Mississauga’s doctrinal statement
  • A commitment to the mission, vision, and leadership of Hope Mississauga
  • A commitment to care for, minister to and pray with the staff and volunteers within the ministries that you work in, as well the congregation you serve

COMPETENCE

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative individual who works well in a team and is able to lead others
  • Well-organized, able to design and maintain systems, schedules, and procedures
  • Must possess technical and creative knowledge and skills required for social media management and content creation, including copywriting, graphic design, photography and videography
  • Critical thinker, adept at problem solving, multitasking, and adapting to new challenges
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable with and capable of working well without supervision
  • Creative individual who actively seeks ways to adapt and improve
  • Degree and/or experience in communications, journalism, or public relations is an advantage

CONTRIBUTION

  • Coordinate communication between church leaders, ministries, partners, church body, and our served communities
  • Organizing and forecasting communications needs in both the short and long term
  • Creating or maintaining communications policies, procedures, and compliance, in order to ensure consistent and excellent communications for the church, its ministries, partners, tenants, and guests
  • Working with ministry leaders and the Communications Team of volunteers to create and execute a fruitful communications strategy
  • Oversee, manage, and improve all areas of church communications including social media, website, business listings, SEO, advertising, newsletters, announcements, physical and visual media
